Blood bank visits school
The mobile blood bank from the Red Cross visited the senior campus of Brisbane Water Secondary College last week in its annual quest for donations.
Senior students, staff and some parents participated, college principal Mr Pat Lewis said.
"In all, over 70 donors visited the bus during the day, making the visit a great success for the Red Cross," Mr Lewis said.
Meanwhile on the middle school campus, students were also involved in health matters.
Two days of first aid training was held for 42 students from Years 7 to 9 to qualify them for their Preliminary First Aid Certificate.
"This is a vital part of their progress toward their occupational health and safety Green Card which will allow students to access work experience as part of their studies and transition to the work force," Mr Lewis said.
