Photo exhibition raises money
A Peninsula resident is holding a photographic exhibition to raise money for local fire fighting organisations.
The exhibition of photographs, taken by Dawne Fahey in the week following the New Year's Day Peninsula bushfires and also six weeks later, opened yesterday and runs until April 2
"I have transformed the original photos into photo art in an endeavour to turn what was a negative event (the bushfires) into a positive event of stunning images," Ms Fahey said.
"All proceeds from sales of the photo art will go to both the Patonga volunteer rural fire brigade and Gosford rural fire service.
"There will also be a raffle to raise funds in addition to the release of a short run edition of my first publication of photo art that is dedicated to the Patonga volunteer rural fire brigade for the good work they do for the community."
The exhibition will be opened daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm except for Friday, March 31, and then open for the final weekend until April 2.
The event is being held in Studio 1 at the Gosford regional art gallery
A gold coin donation is required at the door.
