High School staff briefed
Woy Woy High School staff have been briefed on the proposal to restructure their school as part of the wider Department of Education's secondary school restructure plans.
Mr Owen Kenny, the project officer for the restructure on the Central Coast, has spoken to the staff.
School principal, Ms Carolyn Carter said Mr Kenny gave staff a run-down on the underlying reasons to consider the restructure.
"On the Central Coast, the rationale is to improve School Certificate and Higher School Certificate results," said Ms Carter.
"We want to be above the State average consistently."
Some areas throughout NSW, such as Dubbo and Mt Druitt, have already restructured and formed collegiates.
Other areas such as Sydney's northern beaches, Port Jackson and Bankstown are also considering the matter.
The restructure proposal involves the viability of forming more regionalised schools, which have less of an age range of students, so that a school might only have Years 11 and 12, for example.
