Surf swap and sale is planned

Umina Surf Club will be holding its first annual Surf Craft Swap and Sale Day on Sunday, April 16, at Umina Beach.

The day will begin at 9am with manufacturers, surf clubs and individuals welcome to sell, swap, browse or buy.

A small fee will be payable to the Umina Surf Club for equipment displayed or sold on the day.

This equipment is expected to include foam and fibreglass nipper boards, malibu and paddle boards, surf skis, surfboat equipment, IRB equipment and other surf craft.

The sale, which will finish at 12 noon, will be held in conjunction with the annual Umina Ocean Swim, which consists of a 400-metre event and a two-kilometre event.

Willing participants can register for these events at Umina clubhouse on April 16 at 8am before the events take place.

The 400-metre swim will begin at 10am, and the two-kilometre swim at 10.45am.

The entry fee will be $5 for the 400-metre swim and $10 for the two-kilometre, or $15 to participate in both events.

Sponsors of the Umina Beach Swim 2000 include Umina and Woy Woy Retravision, Clarke's Amcal Pharmacy, Commonwealth Bank, G.L.Jackson First National Real Estate, and Bob Gordon's Swim School.
