HSC results are 'fine' - principal

Umina High School principal Mr Pat Lewis, has described the outcome of last year’s HSC as including some very fine individual results.

"Fiona Swan and Steven Cooper achieved TER scores in the 90s while many others pleasingly scored in the 80s and 70s," he said.

"There were also a large number of top 10 per cent scores in individual courses.

"Our class of ’99 also had 13 courses in which the student group achieved a class average above the state average."

The following students were offered tertiary places for high HSC results: Lori Allsopp, Chris Beverstock, Kristy Brennan, Grant Brisbin, Cassie Bryant, Steven Cooper, Anna Golding, Lisa Hewson, Paul Hickey, Sarah Keen, Nathan Lakajev, Guy Lovell, Cory Maxwell-Coghlan, Luke Naividi, Ben Page, Monique Sayers, Kate Scott, Shelley Smith, Kristie Stebbing, Fiona Swan, Kristy Trimboli and Angela Wilesmith.

"Congratulations to these students whose hard work and pleasing results is a credit to them and their teachers," said Mr Lewis.

"Tertiary places of course are not the only measure of success with many other students obtaining traineeships, apprenticeships, training with private providers, and employment."
