Kerry is our champion
Kerry Armstrong-Smith from the Umina Surf Life Saving Club has achieved Champion Lifesaver status at the State Masters Carnival in Sydney.
She also won two bronze medals and a silver medal for tube, ski and ironwoman (30 to 34 age group) events.
This was one of Kerry's first competitions since taking time out to have a child.
Wendy Cook was also highly successful on the day by winning one silver and two bronze medals for tube, ski and ironwoman events for those aged 40 to 44.
Rod Hulls picked up two bronze medals in ironman and board events, then teamed up with Garry Mensforth to score gold in the 35 to 39 age board rescue.
The club's boat crew also won a silver medal at the carnival.
The crew was James Baker, Barry Antees, Jerry Kelly, Matt Mills and Grant Stringer.
