Lane sale funds road works

The proceeds of the sale of an unnamed laneway that was on the site of the new Ettalong Beach resort development will be spent on road works along the Ettalong foreshore.

The laneway was sold to the Ettalong Beach War Memorial Club for $125,000.

The Roads Act of 1993 specifies that proceeds of such sales must be spent on acquiring land for public roads or for carrying out road works.

The Ettalong Beach Heritage Committee had written to Council asking for the foreshore road works.
