Older women donate to Food Pantry

The Deepwater Older Women's Network have provided around $400 of basic foodstuffs to the Seventh Day Adventist Food Pantry in Woy Woy.

"The Seventh Day Adventist Church on Blackwall Rd runs a soup kitchen and a food pantry on Friday to feed families struggling with cost of living pressure," said Deepwater network secretary Ms Jennifer Brown.

"For $15, recipients receive approximately $150 worth of groceries, including fresh fruit and veg, bread, pantry items and two or three frozen items.

"This service is well patronized unfortunately as locals struggle to put food on the table for themselves and their families."

Ms Brown said the network hoped its donation would supplement other food donations coming into the Pantry "to put a bit of Christmas cheer into the community members who are doing it tough".
