Joice Tee celebrates her 104th birthday

Long-time Umina resident Ms Joice Tee was visited for her 104th birthday by Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid last week.

Ms Tee was living in her own home until a couple of months ago, when she moved into the Blue Wave Living aged care home in Woy Woy.

"She moved in to Blue Wave at the end of October," said daughter-in-law Ms Sue Tee.

"While she is still bright as a button, she needed to be where she could have 24/7 care.

"Until then she had been living at home and cared for by family, mainly her youngest son Don.

"All the staff at Blue Wave have been fantastic and so very helpful," she said.

"She is settling in nicely and is keeping up with her colouring in.

"She is always up for a chat and looks forward to family and friends popping in for a visit.

"She is currently the oldest resident in Blue Wave.

"Born Vera Joice Nash in Canowindra in 1919, she was the youngest daughter, but the middle of nine children."

Known as Joice, she and her husband Reg moved to Umina Beach in 1964.

She is pictured with (from left) Blue Wave chief executive Mr Matt Downie, Mr Don Tee, his wife Ms Sue Tee, and Dr Reid.

Dr Reid said: "It was lovely to meet Vera at BlueWave Living and drop in a bunch of flowers to celebrate."
