Admire the fire boat from the shore
The Patonga fire brigade has asked the public to admire its new fire boat from the shore.
In a social media post apparently aimed at children, the brigade said: "We are so grateful that we have our fire boat and can't wait to be operational but please remind your friends and family that it isn't a playground.
"We would hate that it is damaged and we value the solar panels on the roof.
"If we need to use the boat but find it damaged we may not be able to attend a fire.
"Most importantly we don't want anyone to hurt themselves.
"We know it's exciting and seems like a fun place to explore but please just stay safe and look from the shore.
"If you want to find out more about our little boat come down the station on a Tuesday evening and our members will be happy to talk to you."
