Fishing club holds party and presentations
A Christmas party with presentations was held by the Ettalong Bowling Club's fishing club on Saturday, December 2.
"The ages of our members, children and grandchildren attending spanned nine decades, from 18 months to 92 years," said bowling club director Mr Kerry Watkins.
"It was a great day and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
"The children enjoyed the jumping castle, face painting and a special guest appearance from Santa Claus.
"The food was top class with king prawns, chicken, pavlova and chocolate cake."
Mr Watkins said the club was becoming a social club, beyond its interest in fishing.
"While it was commenced as a fishing club, we are finding it to be a hub for the community to meet and gain new friendships for fishers and non-fishers alike.
"More and more families are joining the club.
"We are transitioning from being a popular fishing club to a great community club for those with a love or interest in the sport of fishing.
"New members are welcome.
"If you would like to join our club, come along to the Ettalong Bowlo for the weekly raffle draws on Thursdays at 6.15pm."
