Tireless worker dies
Mrs Phyl Preston has died at the age of 90, on Saturday, June 7.
Mrs Preston, recipient of the Centenary Medal for her volunteering efforts over some 60 years, was a member of Woy Woy Hospital Auxiliary as well as a life member and patron of Ourimbah Hospital Auxiliary.
The member for Peats, Ms Marie Andrews, said: "Phyl was a tireless voluntary worker for the community, who was much happier giving to others than receiving anything for herself.
"I'm sure she would have given her last cent away to someone who was in need, because that was the type of person Phyl was.
"All members of her large family and her many friends were very fond of Phyl.
"Phyl will long be remembered for her generosity and kindness."
