Distinction in science

Woy Woy South Public School students recorded good results in the Australasian Schools Science Competition.

These included a high distinction for Mitchell Orr, distinction for Rachel Carle, Sharmane Spencer, Jake Linnenbank, Callum McMurtrie, Thomas McParlane, and Aurora Steele.

Achievement awards went to Juliana Peniazeva and Angela Trichter.

There were a further 13 certificates of credit and 26 participation certificates.

Students from Brisbane Water Secondary College Umina Campus also performed well, with two students receiving distinctions.

There were 14 credits and two school achievement awards, from a total of 45 participants.

The competition question papers were in full colour with graphics.

The skills assessed included observing and measuring, interpreting data, reasoning and problem solving.
