Phil becomes life member
Phil Harding has been awarded life membership of the Umina Surf Club for his "outstanding service to the club over 17 consecutive years".
Phil became a club member in 1986 when his daughter joined the club and he took on the role of Under 6 team manager.
Over the following 17 years, he has held many different roles, often several at any one time.
These roles have included radio officer, patrolling member, water safety co-ordinator, junior branch delegate, awards co-ordinator, branch gear steward, First Aid officer, competitions officer and secretary.
Along the way Phil's commitment to surf lifesaving has been recognized with a Ministerial Sports Appreciation Award, several Outstanding Patrol Service awards, Level 1 and 2 Official's accreditation, Senior and Junior Club Member of the Year awards as well as induction into the Central Coast Surf Lifesaving's Board of Examiners this year.
