Tenders called for campus upgrades

Tenders have been called for the $5.23 million Stage One upgrades at the Woy Woy and Umina campuses of Brisbane Water Secondary College.

Member for Peats Ms Marie Andrews said the work would provide major improvements at both campuses.

"There has been extensive consultation with local communities to ensure they have maximum input into the design and siting of the upgrades," said Ms Andrews.

Stage One of the upgrade at the Woy Woy campus would provide a new administration building, conversion of existing administration offices to a special education unit, two new car parks, and landscaping and siteworks.

Stage One of the upgrade at Umina Campus would include a new movement studio, performance workshop and change rooms.

There would be an upgraded cricket oval, a new covered outdoor learning area (COLA) over new games courts, a new bicycle compound, new outdoor learning spaces, and landscaping and siteworks.

"These upgrades will ensure Brisbane Water Secondary College is equipped with top-of-the-range facilities, enabling the students and staff to pursue educational excellence," said Ms Andrews.

"These projects will also help to build a strong economy by creating 100 jobs."
