Committee declines visibility request

The council traffic committee has declined a request to improve pedestrian visibility on Araluen Dr, Killcare.

Mr David Abrahams had asked for a ban on parking on the north eastern section (waterfront side) and that bollards be provided to segregate pedestrians from vehicles.

Mr Abrahams requested that consideration be given to a no parking area being established on the water side of the road, a further reduction in the speed limit to 30km/h, general signage informing motorists of children, and temporary bollard segregation of the roadside.

Council decided that none of these requests would be completed except that officers of council's road safety and traffic unit would arrange for the installation of children warning signs on Araluen Dr north of Killcare Rd.
