RTA traffic investigation requested

Gosford Council has resolved to request that the Roads and Traffic Authority investigate speed limits and traffic conditions on Wards Hill Rd and The Scenic Rd and take appropriate action.

The action came after a request from Ms I Osborn.

Ms Osborn requested that consideration be given to creating a refuge island at the intersection to make vehicles slow down.

However, the council traffic committee rejected this request.

The request also included making the bend from Scenic Rd into Wards Hill Rd less sweeping, to which the council said that they recently constructed a length of kerb and gutter to reduce radius of the bend and limit the speed of traffic turning from The Scenic Road into Wards Hill Rd.

Ms Osborn also suggested constructing a footpath from Killcare Heights to Hardys Bay.

The request for footpath paving between Killcare Heights and Hardys Bay is to be referred to council's project development and implementation unit for consideration for inclusion in a future capital works program.
