Three juniors in district golf team

Three of Everglades Country Club's top junior golfers, Luke Johnson, Simon Hoyland and Troy Scott, were selected to play in the District Junior Team, along with Daniel Bosley of Gosford and Tom Clements of Wyong against the Hunter River District at Everglades on Sunday, May 4.

Simon won his game, Troy drew his, and Luke lost, and the Everglades junior team finished with a draw.

Everglades junior champion Luke Johnson, playing recently in the Australian Junior Amateur Championships at Launceston, Tasmania, had 162 in two rounds of 10 over par (81) to miss the cut of 152 for the final.

Troy Scott, Simon Hoyland and Mitchell Hinds played in the Bathurst Junior Varden Event on April 5 and 6.

Troy Scott won the 36-hole handicap event with rounds of 75 and 76, to finish nine over par at 141.

He finished only five strokes from the winner, State captain Rudy Bussenoff, who won the event with 136.

Troy Scott, Simon Hoyland and Mitchell Hinds played in the Charlestown Junior Classic on April 13, where Simon Hoyland was runner-up in the 15 years handicap section and won the division longest drive, Troy Scott also won the 17 years longest drive.

Everglades were represented by 13 juniors in the Brisbane Water LGU Junior Classic at Wyong on April 14, where Lachlan Baines (handicap 23) was runner-up in the 13 year boys handicap event.
