Nathan climbs the AFL ladder
A junior AFL player for the Woy Woy Peninsula Swans is on his way up the ladder to fame.
Under 14s player Nathan Brown of Killcare has tried out for the Sydney Northshore and Central Coast representative team and was successful in being selected.
Nathan has played for the Central Coast representative side in the past three years and has now been offered the opportunity to play in Sydney where he will pick up new skills, as the level of competition is much higher than he has previously played.
Nathan and the squad of 25 players are coached by the AFL official coaches and the presence of Sydney Swans talent scouts is not uncommon at training and game days.
In the Woy Woy Peninsula Swans, Nathan has been runner up for best and fairest in 2000, of winner best and fairest in 2001, and runner up for best and fairest for the Central Coast in 2001.
He also played for another club and was awarded runner up best and fairest in 2002
Nathan has played in two premierships, under 12s in 2000 and under 14s in 2001, both times the Woy Woy Peninsula team won the premiership.
Nathan hopes to follow the steps of Ray Hall who got his start as a junior player for Woy Woy Peninsula at Rogers Park and now plays professional football for Richmond AFL club.
