Skateboard clinics held

Gosford City Council will conduct skateboard clinics for intermediates at Umina over the Christmas school holidays.

The clinics aim to take intermediate skaters to a higher standard.

The classes represent an ideal opportunity for young people to visit the skate park and become comfortable mixing with other users.

The skate park is designed to be used by all standards of skaters.

Each participant must wear a safety helmet and have their own skateboard to participate in the clinics.

Experienced skate instructors conduct the one-hour classes with a maximum of five people per class.

Intermediate classes are held at Umina on Wednesday 10 and 17 January starting at 10am. Beginners classes will be held at Narara.

Classes cost $6.60 per session or $22 for four sessions.

On Thursday, January 18, after the final lesson at midday, there will be a competition for all people who have attended the clinics and prizes will be awarded.

Registrations are taken by the cashier at Gosford Council offices in Gosford and Woy Woy.

Classes fill quickly and are usually fully booked prior to the day.

For more information, contact Council's Recreation Officer, John Ferguson, on 4325 8430.
