Dogs on trial at Ettalong
The Ettalong Beach CBD area will be patrolled by security officers with dogs on a six-week trial leading up to Christmas.
Peninsula Main Street coordinator Cr Debra Wales said Specialised Dog Services International had been contracted by the Ettalong Beach Heritage Committee to give the town a sense of added security.
She said patrols would be made on a random basis day and night.
The Peninsula Chamber of Commerce was backing the move and was looking into similar services in Umina Beach and Woy Woy CBD areas.
Cr Wales said the service would work in close liaison with the police.
