Kirsten makes quest final

Ettalong's Kirsten Beverley has made the final of the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children's Quest held in Sydney this month.

Kirsten won the Hunter regional final to be one of the 80 grand finalists.

At the start of the competition earlier this year, there were 1500 entrants from NSW and the ACT.

Kirsten was among 20 contestants to make the 8-11-year-old age group final.

Entrants are judged on deportment, catwalk technique, presentation and style, appropriateness of dress for age and the ability to participate in a choreographed event.

Kirsten will be vying for modelling contracts with Shelleys Model Management and Lollipops Children's Model Agency, and the winner of the most potential award will be travelling to Egypt with the Great Australian Fashion Show next month.

All money raised from the competition will go towards the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children's VisionEd preschool at North Rocks, which was opened last month.
