Bindii chance is missed

Woy Woy Public School students will have to endure bindii season after Gosford Council failed to spray.

Principal, Mr Warrick Hannon, said despite communicating with council about the matter, the time had past in which to be able to halt the growth of bindii.

"Unfortunately, even with frequent communication on a twice-weekly basis since the beginning of this term, council have informed me that they did not spray our field and will not be able to do so," he said.

"This is extremely disappointing as now the bindii have matured and spraying would not be effective.

"Our staff is fully aware of the problem and will take measures for students to avoid contact with the grass where possible."
