Concert draws 200

The Peninsula Choir and Gosford City Brass Band joined again for their sixth annual concert on August 20.

The "Music from Around the World" Concert was held in the Ettalong Baptist Church and attended by more than 200 listeners.

Guest soloists Joanne McMahon and Anita Fallow and young flautist Jackie Wright helped to make the program doubly interesting with their renditions of songs and music from France, Spain, Germany and England.

The concert raised $2330 for the Religious Education Ministries to support the full-time scripture teachers at Umina and Woy Woy High Schools.

The Peninsular Choir organised the event and all concert expenses were paid by the choir.

The concert was followed by an afternoon tea provided by choir members and donations of cakes and slices from Simpsons Cakes, Bremen Patisserie, Umina Mall Cake Shop and Umina Bakehouse.

The choir will be performing some of the concert items for the residents of Orana Baptist Home for the Aged at Point Clare on Sunday, September 17.

The choir welcomes new choristers. Enquiries should be made to 4342 3751.
