Angela has soccer hopes

Year 11 Umina High School student, Angela Murphy, 16, is on track to one-day make the Australian Women's soccer team.

In December, Angela will play in the Australian all-schools side against New Zealand in Tahiti.

Also this year she has played for the first-placed NSW High Schools team in a competition in Darwin.

She currently plays for the Central Coast Lakers first division side.

Over the last five years she has also represented the Central Coast, combined Catholic schools and NSW state teams.

In 1996, 1997 and 1998 she was selected in the Jets training squad.

The jets are a reserve NSDW institute team for players that show potential.

Angela started playing soccer when she was five-years-old for the Woy Woy Soccer Club.

She played with Woy Woy for four years before moving to Umina, where she played two years in the juniors.

She said that she has wanted to represent Australia since she was six.
