Seniors invited to 'drop in'

The Ettalong Senior Citizen's Centre is inviting residents over the age of 50 to drop in "for a chat and a cuppa".

The centre is located on the corner of Broken Bay Rd and Karingi St, opposite the Ettalong Beach Club, and is open from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.

It is available to all citizens over the age of 50 and the centre's aim is to help improve the quality of life of senior citizens by providing opportunities for social, educational, cultural and physical development.

The range of activities vary but include cards, bowls, fitness classes, social meetings, table tennis, discussion groups, dancing, crafts and painting.

The centre also has many books and leaflets available with information on issues affecting senior citizens.

The centre's publicity officer, Mr Fred Cooper, said: "The variety of things to do is a real eye-opener.

"We have never been bored (since joining the centre as members).

"Don't waste time sitting at home; come along and check out the numerous activities.

"You're sure to find something to suit you."
