SEU girls make grand final
The under-16 girls soccer grand final was played at Fagans Park, Point Clare, between Wyong and Southern Ettalong United (SEU).
Wyong led by captain Melissa O'Brien and vice captain Samantha Quinn defeated minor priemiers SEU in a thrilling grand final game.
SEU were first to score midway through the first half and Wyong replied straight away with a goal from Olivia Daly after a cross from Melissa O'Brien.
Solid defence from Samantha Quinn, Yvette Bortolussi and Ashleigh Lambert held out SEU.
In the second half, the ball went from one end to another with Wyong player Tenille Hankin running down the sideline to get fouled.
Wyong was given a free kick outside the box.
Melissa O'Brien took the kick and put it into the back of the net and with 15 minutes to go Wyong held out SEU to a 2-1 win.
