Woy Woy is on bowling calendar

The Royal New South Wales Bowling Association has put "The Woy Woy Night Maestro Triples" on the bowls calender once more.

The club claims the event as the Peninsula’s most prestigious bowling event and will be staged at the bowling club in February 2001.

The coaching class singles, held each year for new and novice bowlers was concluded recently.

The final was won by popular new member Peter Chippindale, the youthful manager of "Watersedge Accommodation Woy Woy".

Peter had a strong win in the final from another up and coming bowler, John Medcalfe.

The conclusion of third term of Woy Woy High School student involvement saw a triples tournament, which resulted in M Finlay, S Blackman and J Genner defeating M Brown, J Fordham and T Mullins in the final.

School teacher Rob Harwood was congratulated by club officicals for encouraging his pupils to accept lawn bowls as their chosen sport.

Honorable mention must be accorded the others in the squad: J Fagan, L Holland,T D Erden, C Stokes, S Bowker, J Doyle, Cdenny, L Hardwick, L Cassidy, P Gregan, A Fauvette, C Morison, C Page, B Peterson, C Skehan, L Wheeler, A Wardrop, H Worrak and M Yuile.
