Zone athletics winners

Empire Bay Public School performed well at the recent Woy Woy Zone Athletics Carnival.

School principal, Mr Gordon Fraser, said: "Despite the overcast, cold weather, our school team performed wonderfully.

"The school not only won the Overall Points Shield, but also the Percentage Shield.

Many of our children will now go on to compete at the Regional Athletics Carnival."

Junior Girls Relay Team - 1st, Shellie Wilkes, Rebecca James, Chloe Maxwell, Candice Taylor.

Senior Girls Relay Team - 1st, Emily Mullen, Samantha Tomlin, Lauren James, Rebecca Geddes.

New records were set at inter-school games by Empire Bay Public School students Emily Mullen in discus, and Samantha Tomlin in high jump.

Emily Mullen and Shellie Wilkes were age champions.
