Juniors join bowling club

Woy Woy Bowling Club has acquired two new junior members, the first in many years.

"Luke Holland and Cameron Leacock both have excellent potential and are very keen," said member Mr Ted Martin.

"I am sure all members will accept and encourage these young bowlers along the way," he said.

"When we started this scheme nine weeks ago, we had 21 Woy Woy High School students attend on the first day.

"We are planning to organise a competition at the end of this school term between Woy Woy and Umina High Schools to encourage these young people to participate in organised bowls."

Mr Martin thanked members for their interest and help in the scheme including Roy Bolewske, Gordon Armstrong, Graham Kenney, Glen Smith, Ian O’Reilly, Keith Miller, Roy Conway Jnr, Steve Cook and Ron Riley.

"Members have donated clothing and so forth towards the junior scheme clothing pool," Mr Martin said.
