Umina Garden Spring Show attracted more than 300 entries, a new record.

The Umina Progress Hall was overloaded with floral art, various types of flowers, pots, vegetables, Bonsai, Africian Violets, Australian natives and other varieties.

Organisers said the show was a success thanks to publicity in Peninsula News and visitors from the Flora Festival at Kariong.

Section Two Open Variety: Flowers from my garden, Joan Flakelar Trophy, K Horsfield.

Section Three Bulbs: Yellow Ranuncula, Sash, J Pink.

Section Four Vegetables: Pumpkin, Stan Swales Cup, R & H Watkins.

Section Five Pot Plants: Orchids, Lil Flint Trophy, J Pink.

Section Six Australiana: Birds Nest, Hilda Kidd Trophy, R & H Watkins.

Winner of raffle was Mrs F Cass.
