Brigade web site is topical

A topical site for the coming summer months could be The Bays Rural Fire Brigade home page.

The page provides a variety of images and links throughout the site regarding the activities of this volunteer group of Peninsula residents who protect our homes against bushfires.

The page provides internal links to information about the group including some limited history about the formation of the group, some photos of the volunteers and the machinery and a memorial; page to the many firefighters who have lost their lives trying to protect peoples property.

The images are optimised for quick downloads but unfortunately some of the information has not been updated for some time.

External links enable the viewer to jump to Gosford City Council, a random generation page to drop in on and a links pages that provides access to a diverse range of firefighting sites.

Other external sites range from other local bushfire brigade sites, a link to the NSW Rural Fire Service, links to international; fire sites and a sister brigade site in Finland.

The Sister link site was not working when I visited it.

The page appears to have been last updated in 1998 and is a worth a look to see some of our local volunteers in action The site rates six out of 10 and can be accessed at http://kg5.users.fl.net.au/thebays.html

If your community organisation is on the Internet and would like your site reviewed, send the information including contact details to stephenmcnamara@start.com.au or mail to PO Box 532, Woy Woy 2256 or fax 4342 2071.
