Hospital appoints veteran liaison officer

Brisbane Waters Private Hospital has appointed Wendy Munro as Veteran Liaison Officer "to oversight the veteran's stay in hospital".

The appointment will further improve the hospital's veteran services and coordinate veterans' post-discharge needs, according to the hospital's chief executive officer Mr Graham McGuinness.

Part of the role is to liaise with all veteran groups and organisations on the Coast.

Brisbane Waters Private Hospital has long been conscious of the large veteran community residing on the Central Coast and has introduced a number of initiatives to better cater for the expectations of veterans when admitted to the hospital, he said.

Mr McGuinness believed that both the quality of service the hospital provided and its commitment to the Coast's veterans were having a positive impact as an increasing number of veterans were attending the hospital.

"This was recently confirmed when Brisbane Waters became the fourth busiest private hospital in NSW in terms of veteran admissions, and accounted for 43% of all veteran admissions to the Coast's private hospitals," he said.

Anyone wishing to contact Wendy can call her at the hospital on 4341 9522.
