Recognition for two graduates

Two Peninsula university graduates have received special recognition at the conferring of awards at the Central Coast Campus, Ourimbah.

Umina resident, Deborah Dunn, was awarded the prestigious University Medal.

This medal is awarded to a candidate who has achieved first class honours and displayed outstanding ability.

Ms Dunn at 44 and with three grown children, was awarded an Honours Class 1 in the Bachelor of Arts degree.

She is now enrolled in doctoral studies at the Campus.

Ms Dunn originally left school in Year 10.

Woy Woy resident Jenny Davis also graduated at the ceremony after having left school at Year 10.

Ms Davis graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialisation in Marine Science.

She also received a scholarship to study for an honours degree based on her academic performance.

The ceremony was the third to combine award presentations to graduates of The University of Newcastle, The Hunter Institute of Technology and The Central Coast Community College.
