Introducing high school

Woy Woy High School will have its Year 6 open night to introduce primary school students and their parents to high school on May 10 at 6.30pm.

All subjects studied at the high school will have lessons and demonstrations.

The night will start with a barbecue and entertainment in the hall.

Earlier this month, Woy Woy High students visited students at Kariong, Ettalong, Woy Woy, Woy Woy South, Empire Bay and Pretty beach primary schools to field questions from Year 6 students.

The Woy Woy High students, Lauren Brown, Max Harwood, Heidi Robertson, Clayton Wheeler, Kim Honan, Leanne Brown and Matthew Arrua said they found the experience rewarding.

"It was good fun talking at the schools," said Heidi.

"I talked to the students about the student representative council and how they could be on the council and try to work out ways to improve the school and arrange discos."

Matthew said he loved revisiting his old school.

"I told them about all the different sports they can do at high school and how they could do experiments in Science," he said.

"They loved hearing about how you can cut up frogs."
