Students make water presentation

Children from Woy Woy South Primary School were among Central Coast schools who performed for Gosford Council's annual Schools Environment Awareness Presentation Day on Thursday, November 27, at Laycock St Theatre.

The schools gave performances matching the theme for the year's program "Don't be a drip....save a drop."

The theme emphasised the need to conserve water.

Winners of the Beryl Strom Memorial Environment Prize were also announced at the presentation.

Beryl Strom was an environmental activist, heavily involved in the Peninsula area.

Gosford Council and National Parks and Wildlife Service provided a total of $500 prize money for the essay competition.

Mayor Cr Robert Bell said he was overwhelmed at the high level of creativity when it came to finding solutions to conserving water.
