The Bells have a rest

Ettalong Musical Group, The Bells, are going to have a rest from the December 16 to the January 27.

It is 23 years since the Bells performed their first concert at Ettalong Senior Citizens in 1980.

The founders were Mary Hickson, Marjorie McKenzie and Dorothy Harvey, who was pianist for the next 2I years.

Some of the early members of the Bells are still in the group today.

This year, the Bells have performed weekly concerts, 42 altogether by the end of this year, from Woy Woy, Ettalong, Umina and Gosford to Terrigal, Erina, Kincumber, Wyoming and as far away as Bateau Bay.

"Our special thanks to CWA ladies who allow us to practice in the Umina Beach Hall, and to Mrs Irene Pemble who plays piano for us now and also to Mrs Mart Vickers," said Joy Coleman.

"The Bells wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year."

With inquiries, phone 4369 1899.
