Traffic lights announced

The Peninsula is to get its second set of traffic signals - at the intersection of Blackwall and Allfield Rds, Woy Woy.

Member for Peats Ms Marie Andrews said $725,000 of State Government money would be spent on the work.

"These new signals will significantly improve road safety for local residents who have experienced increased road and pedestrian traffic along Blackwall Rd," Ms Andrews said.

"These signals will also improve safety for cyclists.

"Minor supporting work will be undertaken to support the traffic signals and other traffic improvements in the area.

"A left lane to be constructed for traffic turning off Blackwall Rd into Allfield Rd will improve traffic flow as will new dedicated lanes for left and right turning traffic travelling east on Blackwall Rd.

"These improvements will bring substantial benefits to all road users in the Woy Woy area, particularly when the new Peninsula Aquatic Centre is complete.

"The new traffic signals and other improvements are expected to be completed by late January, weather permitting," Ms Andrews said.
