Al-Anon is open to new members

Al-Anon, a group which provides support to relatives of alcoholics, is accepting new members on the Peninsula.

Al-Anon meetings are held Thursdays 12:30 and 7pm and Sundays 7pm at The Cottage in Vidler Ave, Woy Woy, and 2pm Saturdays at the community health building at Woy Woy hospital.

"It's a place where you can talk to others who understand your feelings and the alcoholic's compulsion to drink," a representative from the group said.

The meetings are informal but emphasise confidentiality and anonymity.

Al-anon is a worldwide organisation which meets in more than 100 countries.

Al-Anon is not affiliated with any political or religious organisation and has no opinions on other issues.
