Local band performs for CanTeen

Award winning local rock band Fyna will be a performing a concert on Thursday, December 11, at Brisbane Water Secondary College to raise money for CanTeen

The concert will kick off at 7pm with another young Peninsula band "For The Moment".

Fyna have just completed their HSC and were approached by many of their fellow students to perform one last time before Fyna embarks on a full time music career.

Their first album should be released about June next year.

Fyna were delighted to perform but wanted the concert to be something special.

"CanTeen is an organisation all young people can identify with," Dave Jenkins said.

"A charity dedicated to helping young people living with cancer.

"It is going to be awesome," bass player Tim John said.

"We are going to be on stage looking at a sea of bandanna's and every one of them is helping someone out."

Fyna will be on stage at 8pm for two sets.

The entry fee is $10, which includes a can of coke, chips, and a bandanna.

The concert is open to students from both campuses.

There will be Fyna CD giveaways.

In their time at the college, Fyna won the 2002 and 2003 Kool Skools competition, and the Koolest school award.
