Trailer business starts

A home-based trailer-manufacturing business started trading last month at Ettalong.

Trading as Weld "R" Uss, proprietors Jim and Sharyn Russ manufacture one complete trailer every day and also undertake rebuilds, repairs and modifications for all kinds of trailers up to a four and a half tonne capacity.

Jim grew up in Umina, became a butcher and went to Tasmania.

He has now retuned to the Central Coast, recently moving to Ettalong with his wife and four children.

He prefers welding to being a butcher and commenced his new trade making trailers for racing cars.

Trailers are made to order and comply with RTA specifications.

They can include lights, electric or disc brakes, ramps and tippers.

Sharyn also works in the manufacturing side of the business, welding, spray painting and assembling parts, as well as looking after the books.

"We undertake all welding work including rust repairs on trailers and even steel furniture making," Jim Russ said.
