Residents object to 'high rise'

Council has received a petition, with 22 signatures, from Ettalong residents objecting to a proposed development at, 237-245 Ocean View Rd, Ettalong.

The petitioners wrote that buildings of the proposed height and size were not consistent with the predominantly single and two storey residences of the area.

The privacy of the residents in the adjacent and nearby properties would be compromised, they said.

The proposed height of the development would cast unacceptable shadows over nearby residential properties and the development wiould generate more traffic in the area.

If the project went ahead, it would be the start of high rise in residential areas of Ettalong, they stated.
