Child care places for Peninsula

Member for Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd has announced that four additional child care places have been provided for Peninsula and District Family Day Care.

"This latest allocation demonstrates the Coalition Government's commitment to providing child care places to areas with the highest need, which in turn helps to ensure a strong and viable child care sector," Mr Lloyd said.

"Family day care and In-home child care are great options for many families who rely on these services to help them balance the demands of work and family.

"We are determined to provide quality, affordable child care so that people can participate economically and socially in the community."

Family day care is provided in an experienced carer's own home and is primarily for children who have not yet started school, although they may also provide care for school children up to 12 years old.

In-home care is provided in the home of the child and is designed to improve access for families who would otherwise not be able to use a child care service, such as families living in rural areas, parents working shiftwork or unusual hours and families with a sick child.

Mr Lloyd said families using child care services that are approved by the Commonwealth may be able to claim Child Care Benefit to assist with the cost of care
