Concern about fire hazard

Gosford Council has received a petition, with 48 signatures, from the residents of Horsfield Rd, Horsfield Bay, concerned about the potential fire hazard from the bush surrounding their properties.

The petitioners requested that urgent action be taken to ensure that hazard reduction is carried out on the 30m wide council-owned land which lies between the bottom of residents' blocks and the water line.

The petitioners also requested that a decision be made on the resident's previous offer to pay the Rural Fire Service authorities a nominal fee to burn off their blocks.
