Youth quest is hosted

Woy Woy Lions Club hosted the Zone One final of this year’s Lions National Bank Youth Quest on Monday, February 26, at Ettalong Memorial Bowling Club.

The zone judging was the follow-up from individual club judging which started late last year.

Five contestants met the judging panel prior to Monday night in interviews which accounted for 80 per cent of their total score.

At the dinner meeting, the contestants were required to answer two impromptu questions and deliver a five-minute speech on a topic of their choice, which accounted for the remaining 20 per cent of their score.

The two winners were Justin O’Donoghue and Shane Edwards.

Other contestants were Stuart McMinn, Lachlan Kerr and Michael Roberts.

At the conclusion of the prepared speeches, Woy Woy High School captain Michael Roberts made a speech on behalf of all the contestants to thank Lions Club members for allowing them the opportunity of participating.
