Umina junior cricket

The cricket season has reached its half way stage and again the Umina Juniors have put in some good performances in all age groups.

Round Six took "limited overs" format, being the last weekend prior to the Christmas break.

It included significant individual innings from Craig Hopping (16B’s) 52 n.o., Matt Mitchell (15B) 58 n.o. and Daniel Norton (13B) 30 n.o.

In the bowling department, best figures were returned by Miles Burgess (15B) 4/27, SamTomlin (3/3) and Josh Wakeham 5/10, while a dynamic all-round performance came from Mitchell Rumph (15B) taking 2/7 and scoring 22 runs contributing greatly to his team's victory.

Round Seven was the first round back after the holiday break.

Pushing the "red and green" cause were Daniel Fiddock (16B) with 57 runs and Daniel Friend (11A) 40 nor out.

With the ball, Craig Hopping (U/16) took 5/24 and Ben Brooks 2/11.

All-round performances were also given by Matt Mitchell (U/15B) taking 1/7 and scoring 27, Chris Lloyd (U13B) 3/18 and 13 runs, Nathan Brown (12A) 2/24 and 23 runs, Adam Grice (12C) 4/16 and 39 runs.
