Library tender is let

Gosford Council has awarded the tender for the Woy Woy library extensions to architects Brewster Hjorth.

Council received 10 expressions of interest for the Woy Woy extensions and decided to give the tender to Brewster Hjorth Architects based on visits to their previous work.

Council officers reported that Brewster Hjorth had extensive experience in heritage work.

Delays to the construction of a branch library at Kincumber have meant the budget for Woy Woy library's extensions will receive an extra $300,000.

The Kincumber branch proposal has been delayed due to council's inability to find suitable land upon which to construct the building.

The Kincumber branch had a budget of $840,000, which has been lowered to $540,000.

The transfer means $1 million is now available for Woy Woy.
