Free computer courses

A series of free training courses in computers will commence shortly for people in the Peninsula area who previously were unable to take up training due to carer responsibilities.

Training organisation WorkWise together with Wesley Mission will conduct courses each Friday at its Ettalong training centre.

Training will be spread over five weeks and depending on client training needs, will include a combination of keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, internet, e-mail and MYOB.

WorkWise manager Mr Mike Burnett said the courses would provide an ideal opportunity for carers, who had not been in permanent full-time paid employment, to gain the skills necessary to return to the workforce with accredited qualifications.

The training program will be tailored to fit within school hours.

Information session, eligibility details and course commencement dates are available by telephoning WorkWise on 4323 9172 during normal office hours.
