Umina wins regional title
Umina Surf Club's Eddie Garrett has won the Central Coast's Junior Life Saver of the Year award.
The club nominated both Kiera Pride and Eddie to represent the club.
Fifteen other surf clubs on the Central Coast also nominated a male and female member to represent their club.
Eddie is in the Under-14s for Umina and is a very valued member since joining the club.
Eddie won this prestigious award for his dedication to community service through surf lifesaving, voluntary patrols, fund-raising and assisting younger members with training and peer support.
This is Eddies second year as a junior rookie patrol member and he eventually hopes to become skilled in all aspects of surf lifesaving.
Eddie represents his club at many local carnivals and came third overall in the recent Coast Loans Surf Challenge series.
His favourite events are the Board and Iron Man. He is also a keen long-distance runner.
Eddie is also involved in the Red Cross Door Knock Appeal and Clean-Up Australia Day, as well as assisting the senior citizens of our community.
