Eddie is State's top junior lifesaver

Umina Surf Life Saving Club member Edward Garrett has been named Junior Lifesaver of NSW for 2001, the top award for juniors in the State.

He won the award after competing in the NSW Surf Life Saving Titles at South Maroubra on March 2.

The award was presented to him at the State Titles by former Olympic swimmer Dawn Frazer.

Liam Jackson also attended the Junior State finals held at Maroubra on March 2, 3 and 4.

He made the finals and competed in the swim, board, ironman and board relay events, bringing home gold in the board event.
